Q: Why does Unmechanical look different on my device than the screenshots on this page?
A: The Screenshots were taken on an iPad 3. For optimization reasons the game needed to look simpler on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4 and iPad 1 than the newer devices. The gameplay doesn’t differ however!
Q: Will the game be available on other platforms (XboxONE, Playstation4 , Mac and more)?
A: We are proud to say that we have released ”Unmechanical Extended”, an updated version of the original game with an additional short story, and to add to that proudness its out not only on PC, XboxONE, PS3 & PS4, its also finally out on Linux and Mac. 😉
Q: What’s the story in Unmechanical?
A: We are portraying the story via ingame events and the environment in Unmechanical. We as developers do have our vision of what the story is, but this way of presenting a games story inevitably will lead to different interpretations. Who’s to say yours is wrong?
Q: Will there be DLC?
A: We released Unmechanical Extended now and It depends a lot on how well the game fares saleswise, but we do have more cool ideas for DLC already!
Q: My game doesn’t save even though it says ”Saving”. When I close the game and open it again I have to start from the beginning! Why?
A: You might either have moved your Documents folder to a non-standard location, or have unsupported characters in your Documents path (for example å, ä, ö), both cases are unsupported by the Unreal engine, hence it can’t save or load. To get around this issue, browse your way to your installation folder and \Binaries\Win32 where you can find UDK.exe, launch that directly instead.
Q: My game crashes, doesn’t load properly or I get this error!
A: Send us your logfile and we’ll take a look at what might’ve caused the crash. It can be located in Documents\My Games\Unmechanical\UDKGame\Logs, called Launch.log.
Q: Some kind of bug in the game caused me to not be able to continue playing, I’m somehow stuck!
A: Tell us what happened when you were playing and what seems to be wrong, together with your save files and we’ll take a look at them if needed. You can find your save files in Documents\My Games\Unmechanical\SavedElements, put them in a zip or rar file and send them our way.

Important Note:

We’ve had issues with the game not working properly on Intel HD Graphics Family of graphics-cards. The game often crashes when playing using these cards, even though their specifications match our requirements. It might be due to out-of-date drivers, but that might also unfortunately not help, so if you’re equipped with one of these we can’t currently guarantee a smooth playing experience. We’re looking into solving this 🙂
